Why relationships matter
Strong, connected relationships are one of the most powerful foundations for emotional wellbeing. When someone we care about finds it difficult to manage their emotions, the strain on the relationship can be intense. Partners and family members often feel stuck, unsure how to help, and left out of the treatment process. Yet your role is vital. By learning effective strategies and gaining support, you can strengthen both your relationship and your own wellbeing.

The group will help you
Understand emotional dysregulation and the challenges your loved one faces
Develop your own coping strategies using evidence-based DBT tools
Build more balanced, compassionate, and resilient relationships
Learn from others who share similar experiences
An 8-week programme built around you
Supporting someone who struggles with overwhelming emotions can be deeply meaningful, and deeply challenging. Whether you're a partner, parent, sibling, or close friend, it's natural to want to help while also needing support yourself. This group offers education, skills training, and a supportive space for people in a close relationship with someone who experiences intense emotions, sudden mood shifts, or impulsive behaviours. Whether or not a formal diagnosis has been given, this programme is for those navigating the complexities of emotional sensitivity, and who want to build greater understanding, resilience, and connection.

Frequently asked questions
No. This group is for anyone in a close relationship with someone who struggles with intense emotions, mood shifts, or impulsive behaviours, whether or not a formal diagnosis has been given. The skills are helpful regardless of diagnosis.
This group is specifically designed for partners and family members, not for the person receiving treatment. It gives you a dedicated space to learn, share, and develop your own skills. Your loved one may be attending their own DBT programme separately.
We ask for commitment to all 8 sessions as the programme builds week on week. If you do need to miss a session, we can provide materials to help you catch up, but fees are not refundable for missed sessions.
The group runs online via Zoom, making it accessible from anywhere in the UK. All you need is a stable internet connection and a private, quiet space.
Groups are kept small to ensure everyone has space to participate and feel heard, typically between 8 and 12 participants per group, led by an experienced DBT therapist.
Absolutely. Get in touch by phone or email and we'll have an informal conversation about whether the group is a good fit for your situation. There's no commitment required.
