Four skills for lasting change
DBT is a therapy that gives you practical skills you can use every day. It helps you stay grounded when emotions feel overwhelming, handle crisis moments without making things worse, build stronger relationships, and feel more in control of your life. You learn through a mix of one-to-one therapy, weekly group sessions, and real-time support when you need it most. Our team is one of the few in the UK trained directly by the creator of DBT.
A structured path to lasting change
Our DBT programme combines weekly individual therapy, skills training groups, and 7 day phone coaching into a comprehensive treatment designed to help you build a life worth living. We offer both full comprehensive programmes and skills group only options.

Frequently asked questions
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based psychological treatment originally developed by Dr Marsha Linehan. It combines cognitive-behavioural techniques with mindfulness practices to help people manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and build a life worth living. DBT in Mind is one of the few UK organisations directly trained and supervised by the original developers of DBT.
DBT is effective for a range of difficulties including emotion dysregulation, self-harm, relationship difficulties, complex trauma, BPD/EUPD, ADHD, and autism. Our team has specialist training in adapting DBT for neurodivergent clients and those with complex presentations.
Our comprehensive DBT programme includes weekly individual therapy sessions, skills training groups, and 7-day phone coaching for crisis support between sessions. The skills curriculum covers four core modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness, plus an advanced 10-week relationship skills module.
Yes. We offer a Skills Group Only option where you attend group learning sessions with optional one-to-one support. This can be a good starting point if you want to learn DBT skills without committing to the full comprehensive programme.

No. While many of our clients come to us following assessments or recommendations from GPs, psychiatrists, or other professionals, you can also self-refer. Simply get in touch and we'll discuss which of our services might be right for you.
Your first session is an assessment where we get to know you, understand your difficulties, and discuss your goals. We'll explain how DBT works and help you decide whether the comprehensive programme, skills group, or another approach is the best fit. There's no pressure. It's a conversation to see if we're right for each other.
